2019 CHIEF AWARD FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has announced the finalists for the Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) Awards, which highlight regional best practices in four key areas: Environmental Sustainability, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Social Responsibility.

The CHIEF Awards were established five years ago to recognize and celebrate businesses from the region’s tourism and hospitality sector which are making a difference in the industry through their outstanding initiatives.

The awards ceremony will take place at CHTA’s annual CHIEF meeting, scheduled to take place at Hyatt Regency Miami from June 21 to 23, 2019.

In the area of Business Operations, the finalists are Atlantis Submarines (Barbados) Inc,, Nassau Airport Development Company in the Bahamas, and The Landings Resort & Spa in St. Lucia.

For leadership in Environmental Sustainability, the top companies are Bay Gardens Resorts in St. Lucia, Blue Horizons Garden Resort in Grenada, and Small Hope Bay Lodge on Adros Island in the Bahamas.

In Sales and Marketing, the finalists are Bel Jou Hotel in St. Lucia, The Somerset on Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, and Valentines Resort & Marina on Harbour Island in the Bahamas.

For Social Responsibility, the leaders are Half Moon Resort in Jamaica, Sandals Resorts International, and The Landings Resort & Spa in St. Lucia.

“We congratulate all of these incredible businesses, which have set exceptional standards of excellence across the Caribbean,” said CHTA president Patricia Affonso-Dass, who looks forward to announcing the respective category winners during the CHIEF Miami event.

CHIEF will be held under the theme “Vision 2024: Embracing Change, Diversity and Growth”.
