CHTA and your National Association Work Together to Support You

CHTA and your national hotel association are two distinct organizations, each with unique objectives and programs to support you and help ensure your success in the Caribbean region’s hospitality space.  Joining both is a wise investment each year, and as with nearly any organization, the more you use the resources of each, the greater the benefit to your hotel, resort, or business.

Why join your national association?  Your national association facilitates important benefits including advocacy on an island- or country-level, engaging politicians and leaders directly.  They facilitate local networking events, discounts from local vendors, host island-specific marketing activities for potential guests exploring options, and connect their members directly for B2B opportunities.  In some destinations, they help facilitate travel buyer-to-supplier trade shows.

Why join CHTA?  The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association is the region’s unified voice to the world.  CHTA brings essential benefits including regional advocacy on your behalf on important issues like air lift, sustainability accords, health and safety protocols, and trade.  Other important and impactful benefits include frequent virtual education and engagement programs, a Data Center to provide useful performance data, research papers, and other materials to aid in business planning and execution; and our region’s premiere Caribbean-only travel website,  Our members often cite our annual engagement, marketing, and education events CHIEF, Caribbean Travel Marketplace, Taste of the Caribbean, and others as the primary benefit of membership.

Throughout the pandemic, many of these benefits were made available for the benefit of all hospitality businesses in the region.  Now, these benefits are returning to “behind the paywall” status, meaning they will be available only to members.

As the recovery continues, it’s important to support both your national association and the CHTA for benefits that will pay for themselves many times over!  If you’re not yet a member, or have not renewed your membership, visit here for more information: We look forward to seeing you soon!
