Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace’s experience as co-president of Resorts International, then the largest private company in The Bahamas, as Director General of Bahamas Tourism, as Secretary General & CEO of the Caribbean Tourism Organization and most recently as Minister of Tourism of The Bahamas has made him an  ideal advisor to both private companies and governments in the tourism and hospitality arena.

He is a strong advocate of policies to ensure robust public-private sector cooperation in the growth and development of businesses and destinations that rely on hospitality for their profitability and their economies. At the end of his involvement in Bahamas public sector tourism, his tenure covered its best performing years whether measured by total visitors, by hotel visitors, by cruise visitors, by tourism revenues or by levels of visitor satisfaction.

He has served also as a member of the Board of Directors for the Central Bank of the Bahamas and as Chairman of the Hotel Corporation of The Bahamas which was tasked with selling 10 government owned hotels and which resulted in the successful establishment of several international brands in The Bahamas.

He is a graduate of Harvard University (BA) and the University of Miami (MBA) from which he graduated at the top of his class. Awards include being named as one of the 50 most influential people in Caribbean Tourism in the past 50 years, named Person of the Year for the Caribbean by Travel Agent Magazine, selection by Fast Company magazine as one of the Fast 50 global champions of innovation as well as awards for Lifetime Achievement from the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI) and the Association of Travel Marketing Executives International (ATME).

In 2009, he was included in Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Honours List and awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for his contributions to the development of Tourism. In 2010 at the World Tourism Organization’s Summit he was one of six Ministers of Tourism from around the world selected to give advice of the best way forward out of the Great Recession.

Mr Vanderpool-Wallace lives and works out of Paradise Island, Bahamas and Miami, Florida.
