CHTA is making every effort to advise our members on readiness, training, monitoring and information sharing, which commenced with a training webinar for over 400 industry stakeholders during the first week of February.
CHTA is part of an established COVID-19 Caribbean Tourism Task Force, comprising CHTA, CARPHA, CTO and the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCMC) – to coordinate tourism industry’s readiness and response efforts. The Task Force’s mandate is to coordinate and share information, the compilation and dissemination of support tools, provide training, and to advance best practices by companies and destinations. Efforts to date and pending initiatives can be found at: COVID-19 Efforts.
CHTA will be hosting a series of virtual press conferences via Facebook Live to provide insight on destination reopening tourism plans during the pandemic. Areas of focus will be on destination specific readiness: preparing employees and visitors for tourism’s return; where questions can be posed by those in attendance. Both public and private sector stakeholders will be featured to give a comprehensive view of the destination. Recaps available on Facebook.
CHTA is providing members a newly launched weekly webinar series called “CHTA Live: The Resilience Series”. Webinars on this series provide practical content to support your strategies for recovery; join the interactive discussions and exchange with industry professionals. #CHTALive.
