May was a defining month for Caribbean tourism—and for CHTA. Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2025 came at a pivotal moment for our industry, and the results spoke volumes: over 780 delegates, 9,300 business appointments, 50+ media representatives, and deep representation from across the region. More than just numbers, this year’s Marketplace reaffirmed the Caribbean’s position as a collaborative, innovative, and opportunity-rich region.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our colleagues at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA). Their seamless coordination and gracious hospitality set the tone for an exceptional experience. We extend special appreciation to ABHTA Chairperson Craig Marshall and their dynamic team—Anthea, Lydia, and Sherry-Ann—under the poised and passionate leadership of Patrice Simon. With humility and grace, Patrice was foundational to the success of this event, embodying the very spirit of Caribbean excellence.
Hosted by the smallest nation by population to ever stage Marketplace, Antigua and Barbuda showed the world—and each other—what’s possible when we lead with purpose and unity. Despite unexpected challenges, the spirit of collaboration never wavered. Together, we delivered an event that not only met the moment but set a powerful new standard.
The momentum didn’t stop there. From the robust data and insights shared at the Caribbean Travel Forum and the Direct Bolling Summit, May was rich in strategy and substance. These conversations reinforced the urgency of diversification and deepened our understanding of emerging markets like Canada and Latin America.
At CHTA, our pace has not slowed. Our committees continue to operate with remarkable focus, as reflected in the comprehensive activity report presented during the recent Board of Directors meeting. Whether in policy, advocacy, sustainability, or business development, we remain steadfast in supporting our members and amplifying the value of Caribbean tourism on the global stage.
Marketplace 2025 reminded us what’s possible when we come together—with vision, agility, and heart. Let’s carry this momentum forward.
