The Clinton Global Initiative Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery

As the 2018 hurricane season approaches its peak months, President Bill Clinton convened the second formal meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery at the University of Miami, bringing together more than 350 leaders from government, business, and civil society.

In attendance were Patricia Affonso-Dass, CHTA’s President; Karolin Troubetzkoy, CHTA’s Immediate Past President; Vanessa Ledesma, CHTA’s COO; Matt Cooper, CHTA’s CMO; Martha Valdivia, CHTA’s Director of Membership Development and Adriana Serna, CHTA’s Director of Communications.

The CHTA team participated in multiple executive sessions created to develop new, specific commitments that are helping islands recover from last year’s devastating hurricane season, continue to prepare for this year’s storms, and address long-term recovery needs. The executive sessions listed below align with CHTA’s strategic vision and were attended by the CHTA team.

  • Being Prepared for Quicker Assistance
  • Building Long-term Resilient Energy Systems
  • Investing in Workforce Development

The team is evaluating opportunities for potential collaboration to support our strategic focus and member needs. Over the coming months, CHTA looks forward to further outreaches to connections made during this exciting event.
