Empowering Caribbean Tourism Through Renewable Energy

CHTA & CAST Earth Day 2025 White Paper and Regional Survey Results

As part of our Earth Day 2025 commitment, the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (CAST) have released a policy-focused white paper and accompanying presentation deck that assess renewable energy readiness across the region.

These resources present findings from a multi-country jurisdictional survey conducted across 17 Caribbean destinations and offer clear policy recommendations to increase access to renewable energy for tourism enterprises. With rising energy costs and a need for climate resilience, now is the time for bold action.

This research is designed to support hoteliers, government leaders, and energy stakeholders in advocating for progressive reform that unlocks the economic and environmental potential of clean energy in the tourism sector.
